Amazon Releases Alexa Presentation Language 1.1 in Beta
Alright, hey guys Mark Phillips with SimpliSpoken back for another SimpliSpoken on Voice Daily Flash Briefing talking today about the recent Amazon release of Alexa Presentation Language 1.1 in beta. So that is a rev of their their beta launch from 2018, October 2018 of the APL 1.0 and it offers some interesting improvements and features that I think will see if we can take advantage of there is a interesting kind of ability, especially for folks that want to, to use a design surface, maybe for gaming, or some of the things that you can do with something that’s a little bit more animated. They have an animate item in that which allows you to sort of have something animated that we’re bounces across the screen. And that’s, that’s kind of interesting. And they’ve, they’ve updated their support in that new release for different screen sizes. And that’s a good, good addition for all the different form factors that they’ve began to release. And in terms of the development tooling around the, the developer console, they sort of rev the experience that you have as a developer, when you lay things out and design things and highlight things and and then it renders things for you and shows you what it looks like. And so when they’ve, they’ve read that in in a way that will help it be a little bit more true to what you’ve actually designed. So when you run it on the device, it’ll actually have less instances of you know, what you saw in the development and virus man didn’t match what you actually see on the device and that’s happened to us. So we look forward to kicking the tires on that and really checking out the new version of Alexa presentation language. So we think that anyone that is designing for voice should at least consider multimodal experience. Okay, thanks a lot guys. This is the SimpliSpoken on Voice Daily Flash Briefing, please do hop over to the skill store and give us a good review. Thanks.
